This homemade costume for families entered our 2014 Halloween Costume Contest.
A word from Phyllis, the 'Monsters Inc.' costume creator:
We have dressed up as a family for five years now and this is our first entry. I am Sully, my daughter is Roz and my son is Mike. The idea came from my children, they decide what group they would like to be each year and then it's mom's job to figure out how to make it happen. Sully is made from faux fur purchased from eBay, with spray paint for purple spots. Eyes were made from halves of plastic "make your own" ornaments, painted on the inside to give the eyes their glossy look, mouth made from screen and painted teeth on screen, horns made from cell foam and wire. Under head was hard hat that was built up for height. Mike was made from cell foam, wire and duct tape. Looked up how to make a globe on line and made initial pattern from it. Eye ball made from plastic punch bowl, again painted from inside and half of styrofoam ball on flat surface of bowl. Mouth made from poster board and marker. Roz made from fabric over hoop skirt, pillow for bigger chest, and fake fur on top of head. We have fun every year and thought we would share the fun this year!
